How are the Dbacks able to give Glaus 48 mill and Ortiz 34 mill when they still owe MLB like almost 90 million??? New ownership???

Rotoworld says the Dbacks are about to sign Shawn Estes to a deal too... Now all the Dbacks need is Esteban Loiza to complete their killer rotation.
I agree, where is all this money coming from, and why aren't they signing quality free agents with it?

My picturing the D'Backs as the worst run team in baseball hinges on what they do with RJ... this should be interesting. Glaus and Ortiz are horrible signings, they're getting Clayton and maybe Estes, and they don't have enough money to actually pay the contracts. Oh yeah, and they have Casey Fossum to show for getting rid of Curt Schilling who led a cursed team to a WS championship.
If I was MLB I wouldn't have mercy on these clowns, they need to learn not to get into debt in the first place.

well, MLB has to approve any signings, and they have a policy that you can't overspend when your in debt. So my guess is that they were jsut saying they were in dept to get the yankees and any other team in the RJ sweeps to give them money.
