Schill
Pedro
Pavano
Bronson
Wakefield
vs.
Mussina
Javier or RJ
Milton
Wright
Orlando?
This offseason is really showing Theo's true colors, and is arguably one of the best GMs in the league at 30 years old
Re-signing a guy who was expected to resign anyway is Theo being a genious? I think he's a good GM but signing Pedro isn't that big of news. Not many really expected him to go anywhere else.
Also, who's to say the Sox are getting Pavano also? There's a decent chance of it but I just came across this at Rotoworld:
Brad Radke was close to signing a three-year contract with the Red Sox before the Twins upped their offer on Tuesday night.
Radke may only want to pitch two more years, so he had no problem accepting a shorter deal from the Twins. If the Red Sox really were that close with Radke, perhaps they're less serious about pursuing Carl Pavano than many believe. Dec. 10 - 2:24 pm et
The Yankees can just as easily have a rotation of:
RJ
Moose
Pavano
Brown/Milton
Wright

No argument there. Although I'm not sure if it's Cashman who's making the moves...

I agree.
The anti-Yankee group is very fond of prematurely proclaiming impossible deals for the Boss to pull off. There’s a lot of talent still on the table and the Yanks, as many of you know, are coming off of a record season at the box office and certainly have cash to spend.
In terms of trades, Yankee fans have heard ‘the Yanks have nothing to trade’ countless times. And with each instance, the blockbuster deals only escalate.
So when it goes down, don’t say it came out of nowhere.
