Maybe it's overkill but they all work fine.
I say the more the better. What one misses the others will surely catch.
That was my exact thought process.
You should be careful though. I think having as many spyware programs as you can is good, but antivirus programs are only effective when you have one, I think. I had 2 on my comp before (don't know how that happened) and when nothing on it worked, my dad's computer guy came to our house and said 2 anti-virus programs would wipe out just about any computer. No matter what program we ran we'd get the blue screen of death, it was really annoying. That was about 4 or 5 years ago so maybe the new ones don't do that, I dunno.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."

That I know. Having more than 1 AV proggy can cause conflicts.
Maybe that was my problem a little while back. I had McAfee I got free through school and Norton AV I bought becuase I like it better and ran them both at the same time and had a tons of problems.
At my university they have blocked all the file sharing programs. None of them work. I have tried Ares, Kazaa, Limewire, Bearshare, Winmx. You name, I have tried. Is there any way I can get around this. Is there any program that they can't somehow block?

The only hope you really have is find one they don't know about yet. Unless you want to get yourself in some trouble, it's not worth trying to do what it would take to get around it. Maybe they've got me running scared, but that's a big deal for universities and other places with large networks to keep the "illegal" file swapping networks to a minimum.

They have them blocked for a reason. Depending on how they blocked the programs there is normally a work around, but its really not worth the chance.
My university has a policy that they won't block any file sharing programs:
University of Guelph wrote:The idea of blocking KaZaA and other media-sharing programs is entirely against the policies of ResNet and CCS. We maintain a stringent policy of not implementing any sort of content-control methods upon our users. We believe imposing restrictions that block specific programs for use on ResNet would not be in the best interest of you, the ResNet subscriber, and it is for this reason that we will not employ such means.
BitTorrent doens't work very well though, it takes forever to get stuff. Same with IRC. At least they don't block programs like some schools do, though.
