I didn't see a thread about this, but that could be I'm tired and in the middle of finals studying. Rotoworld said this was a possibility, giving up Haren or Marquis plus other pitching for Hudson.
Good deal for the Cards? A rotation of Hudson, Carpenter, Morris, Suppan, and Marquis/Haren would be very respectable. Would Renteria stay in this scenario?
If STL gets Hudson to agree to a long-term contract ahead of time then hell yes, great trade.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Renteria wouldn't be going in a trade with OAK if that's what you're asking. As far as trading for him I would be thrilled if they only had to move Marquis and maybe Haren, but when you deal with Billy Beane you more often than not don't get what you really want. I doubt Suppan would be going in any deal other than a toss in to sweeten the pot a little, I don't see him really fitting what the A's try to do -- get younger talent by trading away their expensive big guns.
Why would they ever give Hudson for Marquis and other pitching 9whcih OAK has enough of anyways), they need St.Louis' hitting , but with beane not a fan of the huge contracts I can't see a deal bieng made.
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Because money is a big concern to Beane. It looks like Hudson is gonna be the odd pitcher out in terms of getting re-signed. Nonetheless, a Hudson for Marcus Giles trade makes more sense, IMO.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
This should be one of the more intriguing trades of the year since you've got three of arguably the best GM's in the game involved. Schuholz, Beane, and Jocketty. None of them will jump the gun and make a stupid signing that will hurt their team long term. Maybe I'm just too into it since my team is involved, but it should be interesting to see how this shakes out.

The A's want a pitching prospect name Myers or something too who was gonna compete for a spot in the rotation this spring. The braves are willing to do the deal but only if Hudson signs with them long term and rumors are he's gonna command a 12 million/year salary
