It's Gammons so take it for what it's worth but he says this three-team trade is in the works:
DBacks: Garland, Konerko, 2 Yankees prospects
White Sox: Vazquez
Yankees: Unit
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
HA! They go from needing Vazquez, $18M, 5 prospcts, and one of thsoe 10 SP's that included Hudson and Zito, and now all they want is Garland, Koinerko, and 2 Yankee prospects? Doens't make sense, and I doubt anything like this will happen.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
Don't know any more specifics. I got this from an email from my bro (Yankees fan) who still lives on L.I. It's also reported on NYFansites.com.

I agree with Pogo on that one, and Jackal on the other. I'm not especially high on Garland, but with the departure of Maggs and Thomas possibly out for a while, they need offense, not more pitching. If they could somehow throw in a prospect or two instead of Konerko that would maybe be a little better, but then the D-Backs probably wouldn't go for it. The D-Backs have no idea what they want. First they want everything in the world, then they're going to settle for this?

I heard parts of the talk with Gammons and about this trade. Maybe the ChiSox will do this in thanks for us helping to get them Colon a few years back.
