Pogotheostrich wrote::-t I can't see how Glaus is worth an avg of $11 million a year. That is about what Chavez and Rolen are making and Glaus isn't close to being the 3B that they are IMO. That seems like a lot of money to tie up in an injury prone guy.
My thoughts exactly. Way too much to pay for Glaus.

This will go down as the worst signing this year.
*Leaves disgusted*
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

To the poster who said it's Colangelo, he is no longer with the team.
To the poster who said Hairston is the best 2B option, you obviuosly haven't seen him play 2B. I have, it's painful.
When a team sucks bigtime and doesn't want to stay in last place and has numerous needs, it sometimes overpays to show they are not rebuilding but, for the lack of a better word, reloading.
Dbax overpaid bigtime for Williams and Bell to try to attract free agents.... then...Randy Johnson came...then.... World Series.
They deperately need a cleanup hitter. AZ's doctors said 10% chance of Sexson reinjuring shoulder. Sexson wants all years guaranteed. AZ wants out if he goes down again. AZ's doctors say Glaus OK.
With Glaus, better chance for Finley return if the Dodgers don't break the bank and better chance for a #2 starter to sign.
Why should the Dbax care how much the Dodgers or Yankees have to pay for Beltre and Beltran?
As with many teams, good moves.....
Luis Gonzalez for Karim Garcia
Danny Bautista for Andy Fox
bad moves...
Durazo for Dessens
Schilling for flotsam and jetsom

Hmm any chance you want to put out a projection on Glaus? People are going to need a player to taunt you with all next season now that you-know-who has busted out big time.

Oh, I didn't mean it that way. I meant that it will in no way help them get to the pl;ayoffs by just signing a big bat. I actually expect Glaus' numbers to be around the .270 40 HRs 100 RBIs mark if hes healthy. Its just the team as a whole is so bad that eh will not help anything but put the ticket sales. And thats what management is worreid about, they aren't worried about playoffs, they are worried about selling tickets, and thats why this is a terrible signing.
