Can someone tell me something? I went to see Pantera during the tour supporting Vulgar Display and I could freaking swear that the recently deceased was then known as "Diamond." Am I making this up?

The Diamond nickname came from when he was in a glam-rock band. It wasn't really the right image for Pantera so it turned to Dimebag.

I worded that badly, Pantera was a glam rock band when they first started. They got progressively harder and then Anselmo joined the band, they put out Cowboys From Hell and the rest was metal history.
If you can find copies of I Am the Night or Power Metal you should check them out. Pretty funny to listen and think, wow that's Pantera doing songs that sound like Van Halen.
