I don't know much about Wright but if he pitches all year with the Yankees, there's no doubt his win total will be up. His ERA remains to be seen. Hopefully he can repeat last year's performance...

Out from under Mazzone I'm not even going to venture a guess right now. Personally I wouldn't be surprised to see him go belly-up in NY with the pressure and the expectations, but then again he could win 20 games the Cy Young and be the WS MVP. :-b Though I'd tend to lean towards somehwere in the middle. ;-7

He's a product of Mazzone. He doubled his career IP/HR ratio from 8.1 to 17. His K/BB went from 1.37 to 2.27 - sounds like a fluke to me. Back to his usual ERA of about 5.

AJ, it's really optimistic to think he'll get more than 15 wins next year, he'll be lucky to stay in the rotation past the AS break IMO.

I watched him all year last year as a Braves fan and I agree with you that I wouldnt be suprised to see him struggle. Leo had a great affect on him and there have been many pitchers leave Atl. and not do as well.

I agree that his ERA will probably be around 5.00. He might end up winning 12-14 games, but I don't think we will see the same pitcher we saw last year. I still have my doubts regarding his durability. I would expect 140-160 IP with maybe 120 K or so.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

At least you have him. As a Braves fan I would love for him to have resigned. It is a shame that Yankee fans are so spoiled that they take another teams best pitcher and cry about getting him.

You have to understand that it's the way we are. We have to deal with Curtis and the Sox so getting anything short of Carl Pavano is dissapointing. Especially when the first 5 moves of the offseason are for Stanton, Felix-Rod, Womack, Wright and Milton. We are used to and need to get guys like RJ if we are going to keep up with Boston.
