ESPNews reports that the Red Sox have agreed to terms with Matt Mantei on a one-year deal. Since he's surely coming cheap, Mantei is a pretty good risk. Odds are he'll miss a good chunk of the season with one ailment or another, but he'll also probably be effective when healthy. In other words, Boston has found its replacement for Scott Williamson.
ESPN's Free Agent Tracker is reporting it's one year at 750K
isn't that the whole story behind Mantei? You can't say his name without saying "if healthy". I personally think it's a waste of money but in terms of baseball salary they did get a bargain "if healthy"

True - "if healthy" is asking a lot from someone who hasn't been for a while. A good low risk move, though, for a team with a $125M+ payroll.

Theo loves to buy low. Yeah, he may not be healthy, but it's worth the risk. Bellhorn may not have been good, but he was worth the risk. It's how Theo operates. The Sox have a budget, unlike their neighbors to the South, and he needs to find cheap replacements--hello, Bronson--if he's to overpay to keep Pedro and/or 'Tek.
