Rhodes sucks.... they should keep Lawton who is an ideal #2 hitter IMO. I think he had a shoulder problem that was fixed after 2003, and it seemed to do the trick. I don't think injuries will be as big a conern as others here do.

As far as I remmember Lawton's salary is gigantic. I wouldn't mind the deal if we got some cash along with Rhodes.

The Dunn / Sabathia deal intrigues me. Dunn is capable of 50 HRs, is very young, and has cut down his stroke= improving heavily at the plate. Sabathia , while good, ain't great, and I personally do not think he gets any better then he is right now. He is easily replaceable.

Keep in mind that the Pirates finally have money to spend this year after getting rid of Kendall contract. They are on the hook for some of it but have a few million free. I can see this working but I could see the pirates signing him Lawton to play Rightfield.

I do think that the money could be spent on getting a catcher.

I dont think Cota or House wil do it at catcher.
