Starting in 1973, players who had been in the major leagues at least 10 years, the last five with his current club, could not be traded without their consent. In addition, in 1980, a player with at least five years in the majors could demand a trade if he was in the final year of their contract, or had been traded while signed to a multi-year contract. However, in doing so, he waived his right to free agency for a period of five years and could not demand another trade for three years. Also, he could be traded to any team except six clubs he specified. If his team did not honor his demand by March 15, he would become a free agent.

Why is that??
probably because he is not on the yanks team as of right now........
Yes he is. They signed him.
Trans is saying he'd be hard to trade at $7 million a year.
My prayer would be that Wright can somehow be the main SP in a Johnson deal and we'd keep Vazquez. I don't buy acs's rants about Weaver with Vazquez.
It wasn't a rant jerk...it was just a theory I have...Just a guess about why they would sign Wright...not weaver by the way....So im just making an observation...

acs- it is a rant. You've said the same thing about Vazquez in almost every thread here and not in a calm sort of manner of a theory. Its a "Vaz sucks; lets get rid of the bum" rant.

I think that whatever happens, time is on the Yankees’ side. It’s not like a Unit deal has that many legitimate takers. When all the big gun free agents start getting snatched up, especially Pedro, Arizona will come down to earth.
Another thing to remember: There's a lot of risk in the Snakes taking Vazquez. After a year there, he could demand to be traded, and if they refuse to do so, he can declare himself a free agent. This is not likely if he has a bad year, though, 'cause his contract is pretty good.
