I'm thinking that Johnson is going to go to NY...IM a yankees fan so of course I think that...

Anyways apparently this is what the Dbacks want;

Arizona responded, the official said, by asking the Yankees for Vazquez, Halsey, setup man Tom Gordon and $18.5 million -- the difference between the $17 million Johnson is due for the remaining year in his contract and the $35.5 million Vazquez is owed in his deal, which has three seasons left.

I'm thinking getting wright is a way of patching a hole when they get rid of Vazquez and Halsey...By the way that offer by the Dbacks is insane! way to much to ask...but anyways I think they know johnson will only go to NY and they are trying to milk it...

Anyways IM thinking Vaz goes and Wright stays and in comes johnson

Alternatively, the official said, the Diamondbacks told the Yankees they could remove Gordon from the deal and replace him with a top pitcher the Yankees would have to acquire from another team.

that seems like a logical conclusion IF RJ agrees to play there. This is going to be a very interesting winter meeting IMHO

Yes he is. They signed him. :-?

Trans is saying he'd be hard to trade at $7 million a year.

My prayer would be that Wright can somehow be the main SP in a Johnson deal and we'd keep Vazquez. I don't buy acs's rants about Weaver with Vazquez.

They could trade him but he has full veto rights since he's in the first year of a multi-year contract.
