Rotoworld:
Signing Jaret Wright won't affect the Yankees' pursuit of Eric Milton. A three-year contract worth about $24 million could be finalized within the next few days.
Great, we are corning the market on crummy and/or gutless pitching. Vaz, Brown, Wright and Milton...We might win once every 5 days when Moose goes.

Wright and Milton for a combined $17M/season? That'll be a pretty damn expensive group of middle relievers come 2006

I think George is trying to prove you can spend 250M in salary and still be a sub-500 team. They are going to have to score 9 runs a game with the crummy staff they seem to be assembling.

Milton is hyped-up? By who. Everyone knows the guys blows. Wright is hyped-up but what is it about Milton? Just because he is a lefty. Lefty, righty wjat difference does it make?...he still stinks.

Yep, it's the madness of King George. The only thing missing is Billy Martin.

And it just gets worse potentially...
Rotoworld:
The Phillies are close to signing Jon Lieber, the New York Times reports.
Lieber's another pitcher who figures to get a three-year deal slightly in excess of $20 million. His sinker would be a nice fit in the Philadelphia rotation

Is there any possibility that the Yankees will be using one of these guys to acquire RJ from Arizona?
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

If that's the case, then why didn't Arizona just sign one of them without trading away RJ?
