by the time next season rolls around which team do u think will have had the best offseason overall and what will be their signings?

u probably need to ask this question around jan 15 or so.....but the winner will probably be whoever signs beltran or trades for rj......

its really to early to tell but there are indications that the angels may make some big moves and detroit is certainly looking to be aggressive.

Tough question to answer - is the best offseason winner the team that overpays for the best players - the team that improves the most regardless of economic issues, or the team that improves the most with respect to economic issues?

Of course the Homer in me says the Tigers had by far the best offseason last yr, but then again, the Yankees got Arod, Vaz, etc...

I do think the Tigers are making a lot of sound decisions since Dombrowski took over as GM, and thats great to see as a fan. Hopefully we can land a solid ace and maybe a CF or 3B. Percival was a good signing, IMO, and we have trade bait in Uggey. It really should be interesting to see how it plays out - as long as we dont sign Lowe :-t

If by best offseason you mean what improvements the team made on paper for next yr regardless of the position those signings will put the organization in in the future, then yes, the Yankmees may very well have the "best offseason".

Tough question to answer, even on or about Jan. 15. :-?

Remember just a few years ago, how much heat Shapiro took in Cleveland when he traded Alomar to the Mets? Then the Mets traded for Mo Vaughn. Then they signed Burnitz as a FA. 8-o

Everyone at that point said they would finally overtake Atlanta! Yeah right. We all know how that turned out. :-P

So far, the A's have made the best move with picking up Kendall. That was an awesome trade.
