it's aquino's job to lose and nothing he did in the 2nd half last year would indicate that...35.1 IP 24/17 (hits/walks (a tad high in walks) 26 K 1.16 whip 3.057 ERA 16 saves.. compare those #s to dkolb's 2nd half..24 IP 24/10 (hits/walks) 10 K (UGH) and a 1.42 whip and 4.88 ERA 13 saves... also some dissatisfaction in the d'backs front office regarding valverde's arm angle and make-up...
They'll be in trouble if they have Aquino as their closer.... but they'll be in last no matter what so I guess it doesn't matter. But Aquino's gonna get rocked. If you're not gonna K anybody you damn well better not walk anybody either... I smell a bust. Valverde's trouble was the long-ball lastyear o if he fixes that he should be fine. In a deep league it might not be a bad idea to pick him up really late since nobody will be paying attention to him. Same goes for Luis Ayala. I think he'll be Washington's closer before may is over. Cordero is going in as my pick of worst closer to retain his job over the winter. This is assuming Shawn Chacon's reign as closer is done.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
i imagine it is aquinos job to lose,,,, but if it is a really deep league u are in, i would not hesitate to pick up valverde late in the draft to hold onto just in case.......
