#1 overall pick in a 5x5 dynasty league

Postby moose » Mon Dec 06, 2004 9:29 pm

OK gang. Opine away.

I've got the #1 overall pick in a 5x5 roto dynasty (lifetime keepers) league. If it were YOU, who would you take?

Include rationale if you wish.

Thanks guys! ;-D

I will be in the minority here but I would say easily Carlos Beltran.

What's interesting is guys feel SO strongly about either Pujols or Beltran. Those are the two names I keep getting BY FAR.

What is tearing at me is I want Miggy Cabrera badly but I know I should wait until my second round pick. Still, I doubt he'll last that far along. 21years old with stats like his?

Kent, you're not in the minority. It would be a toss-up between Beltran and Pujols. Really tough call. Pujols is consistent and will get you a great BA, huge power numbers, lots of RBI/R, but no SB's. Beltran could get develop even more power than he already has and be a threat for 50/50, with the other stats being solid as well, or he could crash after he signs on the dotted line; it depends who you ask.

If it was me, it'd be really tough to pick, but I'd go with Beltran.

Not true. An expert that I know personally told me I'd be a fool to pass up Beltran. [/b]
