Why I hate fantasy baseball...

Because it's not year round

Usually this time of year I am getting my fantasy football teams ready for the playoffs, but I find myself already looking forward to the new baseball season which seems too far away. The sad thing is I'm doing well in my football leagues. I used to be a die hard fantasy football fan, but the fantasy baseball bug bit me 2 years ago and I have now crossed over.

Anybody have any advise to pass the time waiting for the season?

What are the mock drafts like here? Are they organized and done in one sitting, or are there some that are ongoing for days or weeks?

Yeah, what he said. It won't replace the regular season but hanging out here at least holds me over til opening day.

I am with you cannonarm. Fantasy football just doesn't do it for me and this time of year gets me thinking about two things:
1) How bad will my credit card bill be in January?
2) How long until "pitchers & catchers report"?

I am a hockey fan as well (Red Wings & Predators) so I am definitely hurting this time of year.

. . . and no good college football for a few weeks.

Or you could put your body in some sort of suspended animation until the season starts.

My advice is to get involved in a keeper league, especially if it can be an in-person league with friends and acquaintances. In our keeper league there is free offseason trading and that helps a little. Then there's the time you blow worrying about how to arrange your expansion freeze list and your auction freeze list. Also we have our Winter Meetings in January that helps settle the withdrawal symptoms by setting dates and deadlines, discussing rules and rule changes, general bs'n, etc. Plus we do league-wide emails to discuss general league issues to be more prepared for the meeting.
