My professor talked about sports historians, and I wanted to take some classes in the subject.

it is a real job. My teacher said that Stat boy from ESPN is one.

Isn't Stat boy that guy who has the annoying show where the sportscasters bitch and then stat guy presses a button on a joystick?? Hes lame...other stat people are probably cool though...YOu can't be cool with the name BOY...maybee Stat MAN! Anyways take writing classes, sports writing most likely, and be an american history mager with a focus in athletics I guess....Also do a lot of reasearch at home...and go to a liberal arts school...

If you go in for a history degree, I'd recommend a side order of statistics. Also, read every good sports book you can get your hands on.

Definitely could be a fun job. :-)
