Imagine a team paying that price tag for a guy who prvious to last year never played a full season Sounds like he will be going to New York

I don't know. I think Drew would be a perfect fit for the Yankees. He'd be a great cheerleader from the bench during your next uninspiring playoff run this coming season.
But seriously, although the Mets are no strangers to bad contracts King George and the Yankees would be the only team stupid enough to hand Drew a 5-year contract.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

He won't get that either unless Yankees trade Posada and decide they need a catcher.

I don't know. I heard the Sox are looking for a great player to sit on their bench now that Nomar is gone.
For all the flak the Mets get about bad contracts, to be fair the Yankees are just as bad, but they spend twice as much so they can still win with the bad contracts.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
