:-?

You gotta love Rico.

this is too funny :-D

if u wanna take one of the 3 i think u prolly want to get some SBs. i mean, jimenez might put up the better power numbers of the 3, but nothing spetacular, nothing u couldn't find in the WW. i'd take roberts over castillo, he will steal more bases and score tons of runs, but will prolly have a lower avg.

The thing I don't think many people understand about Roberts is that he isn't all that fast and he isn't all that great of a base-stealer. Twelve of his twenty nine SB came in a 13 game period, between April 27 and May 13. He went from Aug. 3 to Sept. 19 with out ONE SB and was successful on only 7 of 12 SB attempts in the 2nd half. If you are using him for SB in a H2H league, then you're in trouble......He has more SB value in ROTO leagues, but I wouldn't count on him stealing more than 20-22 bases next year, as it appears (toward the end of the season) that Lee Mazilli has lost some confidence in Roberts' SB ability.

Jimenez stole 13 bases last year and 11 the year before, so I guess you just have to decide if 10 SB and 25 runs is more valuable than 10 HR and 20 RBIs.....Plus most of the leagues I play in take OBP into account (either as one of the categories or in OPS), so I really like Jimenez' plate discipline.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.

i like roberts, personally. league leader in doubles (or something crazy like that) last year seems to indicate he may be headed down the road to getting some more power.

that said, it'd be better to ask someone who saw him play more consistantly than i did if the double were indicative of hard-hit liners in to the gap or slaps down the line. ;-)
