I think they would be crazy not to giev Cruz a shot. Best case scenario for Reitsma is that he is a Jorge Julio clone, and that should get no one excited.

Never been to the city, so no comment there.
The team improved - maybe it'll be better again.
But, most importantly IMHO, Benetiz, coming off a 1.29 ERA and 40+ saves got $7.5M/year. I doubt anyone was offering anywhere close to $12M/2 years to a declining closer. So my guess is, at 35, he took his last chance at a big payday rather than a good team that would pay him less. He already has a WS ring.
