Obviously they have plentiful supply of crack in the desert.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
The Yankees eventually countered by offering Vazquez, Halsey, pitcher Alex Graman, another prospect and enough money to pay a significant chunk of Vazquez's salary. But the Diamondbacks turned that down.
I thought that the Yankees' offer was extremely high. I have no idea what the Diamondbacks are thinking. I don't remember what the deal was when Randy was traded from the Mariners to the Astros, but I am sure that it wasn't this good, and that was when RJ was at his prime. There is no way they will get a better deal than that from any team.
That is unless they can trade for BOTH Chacon and Kenny Rogers.
The Blue Jays have dropped out of the running in the RJ trade talks. "I couldn't give up Ted Lilly" said and obviously distraught JP Riccardi "The money's not an issue, it's just that they asked for Lilly in return. We've got to fill out our rotation. Guess I have to go back to trying to talk Juan Guzman out of retirement."

LOL good one. But that isn't breaking news. It is just news.
Pure disgraceful behavior coming out of Arizona. I'm sorry, but Arizona has been disgraceful the past few off-seasons. Starting with Colangelo being a whiner over the Wells situation to Arizona asking for a boatload from the Yankees for Schilling to turn around and trade him to Boston for a bunch of used condoms to doing everything possible not to trade Randy Johnson, I am sick to my stomach over Arizona's antics.
Take Vazquez with money deferred from his contract, take Duncan(1st round pick last year), take Halsey, and take Gordon. Give us Randy Johnson and go lose your 100 games
