Are the Yankees just trying to get Arizona to knock down the price, or are they really out of it? MLB.com is reporting the Arizona wanted the Yankees to get Hudson, Mulder or Zito in the deal to go to Arizona. That's a little ridiculous.

LOL, that's a good one. I guess they really think that if the Yankees can get whoever they want, they'll just give them to Arizona. Back to RJ in pinstripes, I think it will probably happen. George seemed to really want him to come to NY even before the meltdown in the ALCS.
Like if we got Hudson you would deal him for RJ at this point? I am surprised the D'backs did not ask for Monument Park and all the hot dog and beer concessions at the Stadium. Time to move on and go get a Pavano/Radke type....maybe seing a deal for Hidson or Mulder and forget this RJ stuff.
The AP is reporting that that Yankees have pulled out of trade talks for Randy Johnson because the Diamondbacks were asking for too much. According to the AP, Arizona originally asked the Yankees for Javier Vazquez, $18.5 million, four or five prospects and one of the following 10 pitchers that the Yankees would have to acquire separately: Tim Hudson, Barry Zito, A.J. Burnett, Jeremy Bonderman, Ted Lilly, Edwin Jackson, Scott Kazmir, Shawn Chacon, Jason Jennings and Kenny Rogers. Arizona apparently was willing to settle for Tom Gordon instead of an outside pitcher, but they wanted Brad Halsey, too, and the Yankees weren't willing to pay the price at this time. Talks will probably be restarted at some point, but the Yankees could take this opportunity to jump into the bidding for Pedro Martinez. Dec. 1 - 9:17 pm et Source: The Associated Press
Yeah, Rogers and Chacon!?!? Which if these 2 are not like the others
The Yanks would be better to keep who they have. Vaz is pretty good if he gets straightened out. And why would they trade for another top SP and trade him along with Vaz, PLUS give the D'Backs $18M+ for RJ? Doesn't make sense.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
vazquez another one of those pitchers 4 or 5 prospects and 18.5 million
Thats could be a 7 + 18.5 for 1 deal
is it just me or is that waaaaay too much
No, it is too much. RJ may be a perrenial Cy Young contender, but he's 40+ and asking for 2 pitchers in their mid 20's ALONE is asking too much, nevermind the prospects and money.
