What a timely topic, I'm contemplating trading Tex TONITE in a keeper league. Where is he going/ranked vs Helton Ortiz Delgado or Thome in keeper leagues?? None of those guys are involved in the deal, I'm just trying to gain a reference point prior to accepting an offer for Tex tonight
I know this isnt the right forum, but whats the trade? Obviously its a keeper league, so I would put Tex right next to Thome. I owned him last year, and am expecting big things from him this year and for many years to come.

i would say that's about right
going 25 overall. does that make him a top 3 1B? behind pujols and helton? or delgado, ortiz and thome are still above him?
In a redraft I'm taking Thome or Ortiz over Teixeira although I think you can make an argument that he'd be the better pick in a keeper.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
In a keeper league, I'd take Teixeira in the second round, and feel pretty good about it. In a nonkeeper league, I might wait until the third.
Regardless of whether or not the league is a keeper I'd take Teixeira ahead of Delgado or Thome. There isn't a good reason to think that Tex can't duplicate last season's numbers, and if that's all he does, his numbers will still be comparable to Delgado's or Thome's. On the other hand, there are plenty of reasons to think that he'll improve in 2005, especially when you consider that last year was only his third season playing pro ball.
At worst: .280/90/35/100/5
At best: .315/120/45/130
I think Tex is behind only Pujols and Helton (and just a hair behind Helton). Perhaps side by side with Thome, perhaps a bit ahead of him and definitely ahead of Ortiz and Delgado.
