I think Tex goes in round 2 in a keeper league. Someone will reach for him. I think he'll be worth it.....290 avg, 40 HR's, 110 RBI's, and K's and BB's creep closer together.

I have to agree with everything said here. I personally have Teixeira ranked 13th overall this year (however, he is my favorite player, so I could be a bit biased)......I could even see his average creeping up to .300.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
in my 1 league that is currently drafting, keeper/12 team/h2h, he went second round, tenth pick, so 22nd overall. maybe give you some idea of where he may go. i don't think i'd draft him that high, but could be up numbers making it a good choice, especially if he can raise his ba.
i would think in a keeper he would go top 25 easily if not earlier....as far as for next year i have him around 95 rs, 42 hrs, 110 rbis, 280 ba.....and once he lowers his k numbers i expect him to turn into a top 10 pick every year......
Where would you draft Tex in a non keeper league? I can see using a 3rd round pick on him. I usually dradt a powerhitting outfielder and a power pitcher in the first two rounds, assuming I'm not in top three picks.

I think he is right there on the bubble in a non-keeper league. He could go mid-late 2nd round, but most likely won't fall past the mid-3rd.
I'm just finishing up a non-keeper 5x5 roto mock draft where he went 26th, 6th pick of the third round. Just as an aside, Delgado went 22nd, or 2nd pick of the third round. It has been interesting to see how values of players are perceived at this early stage of the offseason. I haven't seen fairly full results of other drafts at this point, but would be interested to hear other peoples experiences. Could make for an interesting conversation?

I really like Tex. Through age 24 he is "most similar" to Willie McCovey and Mark McGuire! Not that that means much right now (the 3rd most similar player is Bob Robertson ).
Willie McCovey (964)
Mark McGuire (963)
Bob Robertson (962)
