These updates are all over the last day or two, taken from rotoworld:
Freddy Guzman- Former sleeper of the cafe.
Freddy Guzman went 3-for-4 with a walk yesterday to raise his Dominican Winter League average to .354.
He's walked 11 times and stolen eight bases in 13 games. The impressive showing probably won't cause the Padres to rethink their plans for center field at the start of next year, but Guzman could reemerge as a factor after spending some additional time in Triple-A.
Jose Capellan- Big pitcher name for the Braves.
Jose Capellan was tagged for seven runs -- six earned -- in 1 1/3 innings yesterday in a loss for Escogido of the Dominican Winter League.
Ouch. Capellan entered the game with 0.75 ERA in 12 innings.
I still think he'll be a good one for sure.
Andy Marte-
Andy Marte hit his third homer and drove in his 17th and 18th runs of the Dominican Winter League season yesterday.
Marte has fallen out of the league lead in RBI, but he's still playing pretty well. He's batting .250 and has walked 16 times in 88 at-bats.
And finally, a lesser known name around here who I've been tracking and still have faith will be powerful in the MLB someday, Arnaldo Munoz:
He fanned seven and walked just one. Munoz is expected to compete with Neal Cotts and Kevin Walker for one or two spots in next year's pen. He'll probably return to Triple-A for at least a month or two. My take is watch out for him in the closer or starter role someday soon, depending on if he can control his motion and get another pitch.
Just some friendly updates for you guys. Any takes on these guys?
Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

Arnie plays for the White Sox. I'm privaleged enough to get the jump on Dominican players because of my contact and friend Xavier, who plays in the winter league. My friend from the Bronx knows many pros who play in the big leagues from DR. Anyway, the point is I've like Munoz' stuff the past two years and it looks like he's maturing finally.
I love analyzing prospects for anyone, and anyteam, anytime, anywhere. Just ask or PM. Hybrid is great at it also here at the cafe. But since I dont know when he'll be around, I can only vouch for myself.

The Dominican Torpedo Boat (aka Jose Reyes) is tearing it up in winter ball.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I know, and as much as I completely understand national pride in this league, I dont love him tearing it up because he needs to be careful not to tear it up. You know what I mean.

do you know of a catcher a couple of years ago who came out of San Dimas High School, CA? I can't remember his name, i saw him play his senior year a couple of years ago, and scouts were tailing him at every game. i'm wondering how he is developing? I'll try to ask around to find out his name!
