$7 million a year makes me a little uneasy, but we'll see how it turns out.

Hopefully now they'll go out and improve the rest of the pen, which is in shambles. Steve Kline is a guy I'd like to see brought in.

The article mentions that the Giants are now going to turn their attention to Finley and Dye, or possible trades for the OF. They also might deal AJ away.

It looks like they're going for it all next year.

Looks like they'are also going to be bringing in another LH guy for the pen. Good job sneaky Sabes ;-D

I bet the vast majority of fans and clubs would love to see Kline in their respective bullpens next yr - his value is climbing in this market. Same goes for Finley - as long as he is happy signing a 2 yr deal he could command a solid payday due to the number of suitors he has. I know Detroit would love to have either of these players next yr.

Wow, $7 million per? Seems a little high to me, but I guess a good regular season closer will help get you to the playoffs. I hate to see Kline go, but with King the Cards are set for left specialists I guess. :,-(

Nice move by the Giants. The bullpen was the only thing holding them back last year. $7 mil seem reasonable to me. Two years would have been better but it probally took 3 years to get the deal done.

I agree with Cornbread that most teams would want to add a left-handed reliever like Kline. I would be shocked if he didn't end up on the Yankees. Kline might be out of SF price range after their latest signings.

I wonder who would want to trade for Pierzynski? :-?
