Agreed, but if someone wants to take the rist prior to--oh, I don't know--say, round eight, I'll let them take him. Off the top of my head, his BA, especially, has been in decline even prior to his injury troubles, if memory serves me correctly.
I'm back. Sorta.

Do not boo Johnny.

my thoughts exactly...he could be decent next year but unless he falls in to the real late stages of the draft i will be passing on him due to his injury status......there are better choices out there imo with less risks......

If I had to predict his numbers for this year I would go:

.280ish 30-35hr 100rbi 85runs

But like everyone else I wouldn't touch him unless I could get him a couple rounds later than what he is going to go.

I wouldn't draft him until the later rounds if at all. There are just too many quality 1B/DHs out there to take what would be a huge gamble on Giambi. I'm not even convinced he'll actually play again at all. I think he may be seriously sick. Look to see what moves, if any, the Yanks make in the offseason for a new 1B. If they start nosing around, you'll know there's something wrong with Giambi.

I wouldn't want to take him that early personally unless it was a really really deep (16+) team league. :-?
