2004 World Series DVD from MLB

Postby Pacman » Fri Nov 26, 2004 5:22 pm

I got it this week, and I've watched it twice already. :-B It's very enjoyable, not perfect, but well-done. Dennis Leary narrates, good blend of sound bytes and highlights. The post ALCS and WS championship celebration stuff is terrific.

There's a bit too much Curse crap, and we hear a little too often from Kevin Millar throughout, but I can live with that.

Also, they do an interesting job of mixing (blending, almost) the play-by-play calls from: Fox TV (Joe Buck), ESPN Radio (John Miller), Red Sox local radio (Joe and Jerry), NYY local radio (Charlie Steiner, I think), and St. Louis local radio (not sure who they are). So you get different announcers for different plays.

It's an absolute must-have for every Red Sox fan. Doubt it's selling too well in NYC though.... heheheheheheh ;-D

I actually bought a stack and am giving it to many family members and friends for Christmas.

Have any other Cafe Red Sox fans seen the DVD yet? What are your thoughts?

Peace

I got it Wednesday at a Best Buy north of Boston (in Danvers, Mass.) I paid $14.95.

They had plenty then, not sure now. It's available through MLB.com and Amazon. I think the price varies depending where you buy it, MLB is $19.95 I think, Amazon is less.

Good luck.
