If I was him I wouldn't want it, can't possibly wear that with pride.

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

From what I read you have to be on the playoff roster in order to have your name engraved on the trophy and on the plaque that is place in the HoF. Rings aren't determined by MLB they are handed out by the team and it is their discretion as to who gets one.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I wonder which sucker would have to give up his ring so Nomah can feel like he was a part of a WS that he didn't play in and did little to get the team to.
Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong

I'm pretty sure the ring is at the team's discretion... Most franchises give out rings to everybody in the organization.. front office, bus drivers , secretaries...The rings are not the same as the players get though ie. zircon instead of diamonds

Pretty sure I read that the team decided to give Nomar a full WS share and a ring. It was awhile back so I could be wrong though. :-?

That is so funny. :-D

It's not a matter of taking 1 away from someone else. They could just make another 1. On another note, do they give 1 to BH Kim?? :-b

I don't think he'd get one, considering he was inelgible to contribute to the team's playoff run as he wasn't even on the team for the playoffs...

Either way, I think they should change the rules to "playoff roster members only" if it isn't that way already.

Did they give one to Kevin Brown? If anyone contributed to the Sox WS it was him.

There are no rules in this regard. The team has them made, the team pays for them, and the team decides who gets them. The league doesn't and shouldn't decide who gets a ring. Playoff shares could be a little different. :-?
