Did Nomar Get a Ring?

Postby ferris182 » Mon Nov 22, 2004 9:22 pm

Did Nomar get a ring? I heard that there was going to be a team vote so Nomar could get a ring? Is that true?

I know they voted to give him a full WS share, but I'm not sure about a ring. :-?

I'm not sure but there's no way he could wear it and be proud. If you see a 2004 World Series ring on eBay, it's probably his.

Yea the player's voted to give him a share of the playoff bounty (which I thought was pretty cool of them) but it's up to the ownership on whether or not he gets a WS ring. He mostly likely won't IMO.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I can understand him perhaps being entitled to a small % of the WS money pot, but how could anyone justify him getting a WS ring.

That is just not right.

I thought that anyone that plays for a team throughout teh entire season gets a ring. I could be wrong though. :-?

I'm pretty sure you have to be on a playoff roster (even if just the divisional) to get a ring.... I could be thinking of hockey or soemthing though.

That would make sense. To get a ring when not on the playing roster is ludicrous.
