The Rangers say they are close to keeping Rudy Jaramillo. Have to admit I'm happy to hear that. Offense hasn't been a problem, so he must be doing something right.

Odd rumor though......Soriano for.........Chacon ?!!!? I don't like the sound of that at all for the Rangers. Say no to Chacon! Granted, Sori's fantasy value would go nuts in Coors. It was just a little blurp, so I'm not taking it seriously, just one of those things the beat writers toss out there to help fill the article.

The Rangers signed 13 players to minor league contracts with invites to spring training. They are:

Pitchers:

Rosman Garcia
John Wasdin
Lou Pote
Agustin Montero
Shane Bazzell
Vladimir Nunez
Jose Veres
Jason Standridge

Infielders:

Manny Alexander
Esteban German

Outfielders:

Chad Allen
Jason Conti

First baseman Jason Hart and shortstop Jace Brewer were signed to minor league deals as well, but no invite to spring training was given.

That is excellent news! Jaramillo is the heart and soul of the Rangers offense and it looks like Orel is doing great things with the young pitching.

Sori for Chacon? UGH!!!! Please no! In fact, there is no one on the Rockies I would trade Sori for, perhaps Helton but we already have a 1B so that wouldn't make any since. Chacon sucks.
