Top shortstops?!?

I would guess Felipe Lopez for Cincinnati. I read somewhere he is fighting for a spot with Anderson Machado. I also read that they are looking at Pokey Reese and other FA's.

I just checked out Michael Young's stats. They show better improvement than I realized. I'd bump him to 5th, although someone said it well, 2-10 will give good production.

I forgot about Crosby. I'd probably put him in the BJ Upton tier.

I have it like this:

Jeter
Tejada
Renteria
Furcal
Matsui
Rollins

My seventh is the guy I cannot believe no one is talking about here, Pedro Feliz. He did play 20 games there, which makes him eligible in most leagues, correct?

Really, though, there isn't one player who really stands out at this position, even Tejada. I wouldn't spend a top pick or top dollar on anyone here. There's plenty of good players to be had throughout the draft.

Miguel Tejada

Derek Jeter....great second half
Edgar Renteria.....will do between 2003 and 2004

Nomar Garciaparra.....should have chip on shoulder
Jimmy Rollins....really improved last year....can he do so again?
Michael Young
Rafael Furcal
Orlando Cabrera....depends where he signs
Carlos Guillen.....stud last year only. Coming off injury.

BJ Upton....for this tier, I'll take young upside
Jack Wilson
Kaz Matsui...should improve a little, but don't expect too much
Julio Lugo

Other
Jose Reyes....played only 10. Should qualify early. Top 8 potential but the legs scare me.
Jose Lopez.....I don't know much about him. But he's 21 has decent numbers and has a starting gig.
Angel Berroa.....I hate him.
Alex Cintron....playing 2B, but qualifies at SS. Not as bad as last year. 6-2" and 27 years old. Could be good late pick.
Khalil Greene.....should improve batting at top of order. Better baseball player than fantasy player.
Jhonny Peralta.....was a minor league MVP last year but K's too much with low power and SB totals
Clint Barmes.....interests me because he may be Colorado's SS next year.

No one else really excites me. Guzman, Valentin, Eckstein, Vizquel, Izturis, Woodward.

:-? :-? no bobby crosby?????? :-? :-? i would have him somewhere around #10 easily...... also dont forget adam everett....

i would look at them somewhere like this

A couple that only show up a time or two here, Wilson and Lugo. Wilson had what might be called a "break-out" season, but I doubt he can repeat. Top ten is a real stretch IMO. Lugo may not even have a position with Upton in TB, though many are saying BJ plays 3B and Huff moves to 1B. I still don't have Julio in my top ten either way.
