Hopefully the roids will catch up with him before he can break Arons record and he will not be healthy. I go with Arod next year

No Beltre in any of these lists? He DID win the HR crown last year.

It's wishful thinking at best to think he'll crack the top 5 IMO. :-t

Beltre's certainly got the ability, especially if he gets out of LA. People here are going to underrate him because of the lack of a track record. But he has the ability and I doubt this is a Brady Anderson-esque fluke.

You know, the more I think about it, the more Beltre seems like the right answer. He was in a mostly toothless lineup in a giant stadium and still managed to hit a ton. No matter what, he is bound to be in a better hitting situation next year. What could be worse? Detroit? The Mets? Neither seems likely.

Okay, my answer is Beltre.

Not even in the top 5?! Maybe I'm biased because I have Beltre as a keeper, but I can't see how he'll drop so far out of contention for the top HR spot that other players who Beltre beat by 10-15 homers (A-Rod, Tex, etc.) last year are gonna somehow make up all that difference next year.

I don't expect Beltre to be HR King again next year, but I don't see how there's a credible argument that its "wishful thinking" that he'll be in the top 5. Unless of course you think Beltre's 48 HRs was a fluke. That would be some fluke then, eh? ;-)
