Kotchman is an interesting player. I watched him and McPherson up close and personal here in Salt Lake. Sat right behind home plate for all of it. From what I'm hearing locally, Kotchman will begin in Salt Lake, but will probably be on the shuttle as needed. He is a pure hitter, but looks like he could develop power. Excellent strike zone control for a young hitter. McPherson was the more impressive player, but he has some trouble swinging at bad pitches, especially late in the count. Both are going to fantastic players.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Probably the main difference right now is that I have Tex listed at 30 HRs. This will probably change. I don't know. It's just prelim so I haven't really broken down each player yet.
Morneau I just see being pretty average for a fantasy 1B next year. .270, maybe 30 HRs, 70 R, 100 RBI. There's quite a few 1B who can put up those type of numbers.

I agree about Morneau. Fantasy-wise I don't see him being a real stud personally. He will be taken too early just on name recognition in most drafts and comprable performance can be had later in the draft IMO.

It all depends on your leaguemates. In my league, I think that he can be had later. I will start thinking about him in the 10th or so. If he's gone by then, so be it. I do like him, though.
