Thanks!

here's another one. sometimes spreadsheets from various sources will be in different name formats.
i.e.
Thomas, Frank vs Frank Thomas
so try:
Last, First flip =TRIM(MID(A2,SEARCH(" ",A2)+1,LEN(A2)))&",
"&TRIM(MID(A2,1,SEARCH(" ",A2)-1))

I'm trying to use the formula to reverse the name without the comma.
EX Thomas,Frank to Frank Thomas
Do I just click the cell beside the name & than click on the( = sign in the edit formula field), enter the formula
Last, First flip =TRIM(MID(A2,SEARCH(" ",A2)+1,LEN(A2)))&",
"&TRIM(MID(A2,1,SEARCH(" ",A2)-1))
When I do this I get this #NAME?
Any help Thanks

My players name is listed like this Bonds,Barry The only way I can get the formular to work is if I put a space & make it look like this Bonds, Barry

Then just switch that first space with a comma. Like this:
=RIGHT(A2,LEN(A2)-SEARCH(",",A2,1))&" "&LEFT(A2,SEARCH(",",A2,1)-1)

when you asked your boss, did you tell him it was so that you could do your fantasy projections during work? if so, is he still your boss?

I'm having a problem when trying to follow the instructions in using the database. The database 'lahman_52' is read only, it states:
You won't be able to save changes made to data or object definitions in this database.
