Jason Bartlett

Looks like he has a chance to win the starting job in Minnesota. He is currently hitting about .350 in the AFL. The guy that has him owns him for 1.00 and has offering him to me in a package . Doing some checking he could be a steal at that price if he wins the job. Thoughts? Anybody know their minor leaguers well enough to add something to this? Or Twins fans?

Jason Bartlett went 4-for-6 with a triple, a double and four RBI for Grand Canyon of the AFL yesterday.
Bartlett is batting .373/.429/.471 in 12 games. He's already a better hitter than either Cristian Guzman or Luis Rivas and he's a solid defensive shortstop, but all indications are that the Twins will send him back to Triple-A for the start of 2005.

I like this guy because he will likely get Guzman punted from th position or Rivas. But He may not be a viable option this year.

With Guzman now gone looks like there may bea good chance for him. There will be a shortage of shortstop in the AL by the looks of things. Renteria still could be signed . I doubt they will want to give Nomar a big one year or more contract. And Larkin . Well enough said about him. There be a Bartlett watch coming to your town very soon.
