I'd like to know what the runs created for each player were. I dont know where to find them or I'd post them myself. But without those numbers, I voted for Vlad.
Pudge. I think the whole playoff part is BS. He wins with the same logic as Bonds IMO. Although obviously not at the same level as Bonds, he meant just as much to the Tigers offenseively and handling the pitching staff. Take him off the Tigers and they aren't much better than '03 probably. Vlad is the only one of Vlad/Sheff/Manny that can even have an argument made IMO.

If it matters at all, Sheffield leads when you look at that stupid WinShare stat.

Thanks ensanimal. That verifies my vote for Vlad. Ichiro's RC/27 surprised me, but not enough for me to tag him as MVP. His team was awful even with him, and probably couldnt do much worse without him, so I cant give him the MVP. Vlad it is.

They aren't?
Vlad: .337-39-126 with 124 runs and 15 steals.
Manny: .308-43-130 with 108 runs and 2 steals.
Hmm.....
I went with Vlad.
Manny's OPS: 1.009
Vlad's OPS: 0.989
There's more than just BA and RBI/R. OPS tells a much more accurate story. The big BA lead Vlad has isn't as important considering Manny has a better OBA and SLG.
I'm not saying Manny should win.... but the numbers are pretty close between them. Vlad will probably take it considering that the Boston votes will be split. And Manny's defense leaves much to be desired (although to his defense, he has to contend with the green monster).

.311 - 34 - 150 RBI - 107 Runs - 4 SB and all with no protection in the lineup.
Too bad the Orioles did nothing or else he would be a shoe-in. He's going to be like A-Rod with the Rangers - he will put up tons of numbers on a terrible team until they have to give him the MVP one year out of pity.
I thought the "protection" myth was debunked a long time ago?

what protection myth?
It's been pretty be proven that "protection" doesn't really help a hitter. Well, if Miggy needed "protection" how did he drive in 150 runs? If Miggy had "protection" would he have driven in 180 runs?
