How should I feel about Trammel not getting a vote?

All he did was win 29 more games in 2004 than 2003 (.265 winning % to .444) - basically the greatest improvement for any ML team ever.

His team went from dead last or close in many offensive catagories to top 10. Take BA or SLG% as examples.

But - there you have Torre sitting up there - I guess you can give him credit for dealing with egos, but other than that, how exactly is he worthy of manager of the yr voting?

The rest of the AL managers that recieved votes are solid choices - all of them raised the bar with the talent they had - but I cannot accept Torre in that group - no way.

Congrats to the majority of managers that were recognized.

Agreed, it's nice to see some justified awards.

So you guys all agree that Torre should be included on the list?

I guess I just dont see why - maybe some of you can explain to me why falling short of expectations and losing with the highest payrolled team ever constitutes a nomination for manager of the yr.

Cox and Showalter were pretty much consenus picks... ;-D
Manny Ramirez....$20 million
Pedro Martinez....$17.5 million
Curt Schilling...$12 million (and a $2 million bonus)
Never hearing a Yankee fan chant 1918 again...priceless.
