Quite agree, jd. My personal stand in the off-season is to treat it all as a rumor until I see the deal made. Depends on how the wind blows each day.

Haha. Ankiel will be this year's late round steal.

Not in one of my leagues. There's this lady who takes injured studs in the early rounds every year. She's taken Ankiel and Burnett no later than the eighth round each of the last two years. I guess Burnett worked out for her a little this year, but only a little.

I don't consider either of them power pitchers. Both work in the low-90's, I believe.

They do but Clement ranked 6th last year in K/9 with a 9.45 and relies mostly on his fastball. I would consider that a power pitcher but everyone defines it a little different.

Clement K's so many because of his incredible movement on his pitches, rather than blowing high-90's fastballs by people.

Yep Clement tops out in the low 90's, i've seen him get up to 95 maybe once or twice during the season. He relies on his slider alot.

He would still be a nice contrast to the rest of the staff who is pretty much what I call "junk-ball" pitchers -- change-ups, curveballs, sinkers, etc. Marquis, Carpenter, and maybe Haren have some pretty good hard stuff -- good fastballs, hard sliders, hard sinkers etc -- but that's about it.
