Is there a way to take the info from one column and combine it with another?

I have a list of players with their last names in one column and their first names to the right. I want to put the last names in alphabetical order, but if I did that the first names would not coordinate. any help?

If you do a full sort you shouldn't need to combine the first and last name columns. Excel will keep the row data together and sort on the desired column.

But to answer the original question, if you have data in column A and column B and you want to merge them together, use this formula in column C:

=A1&B1 - Copy as needed.

Make sure you copy column C and paste special (values) over column C to get rid of the formula before you delete the original data.
