Heaven forbid someone criticize the Cubs for having one of the biggest letdown years in recent memory. Lets get some announcers that will keep the Cub fans delusional that they're doing well even though they're pissing it down their leg again!

Shocking that a Fortune 500 company would sever ties with one of their leading spokesmen when that spokesman came out with very public, very personal criticisms of the company and its management. To think that this is NOT a business is naive, and to expect the Cubs organization to react differently than any other company in a similar situation is to live in a fantasy world. No matter how you or I perceive the Cubs, they are a business. They reacted to Stone like any other business would.

I still like Stoney a lot and wish him all the best. I'm just realistic about why he's gone, I guess.

I can't help but think that Stone was a revenue(ratings) producer rather than a detractor.

I think one of the worse things a team can do is change a long standing broadcast crew. I was just getting used to CHip Caray and Stoney was always solid. This upsets me as I no longer care which teams broadcasters are doing the game when I watch it.
