Now the Sox are two wins away from winning the World Series and Berman in all likelihood pulls a power-play and pushes Ravvy out.
I dislike that guy more and more everyday
I have been saying that for a long time. He does NFL Primetime. I'll give him that. Other than that, he is a spotlight stealer from the people who do that stuff every day. He has to get his face on all of the big events.

Make it one game away now. It's not over yet, but the fat lady is warming up.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

i agree. i can't stand berman. he should get his own network and take tom jackson with him, espn would be way better that way.
I am sure the ESPN executives or whatever make the call. Berman would have to be a complete ass to walk around and request to take other people jobs once a big moment comes by. There must be some marketing data that says people like Berman, so they put him on for all the big moments.
Berman made ESPN what it is. I'm in the minority because I love Berman. He's one of my favorite sports announcers whether it's football, baseball or the draft. Doesn't matter. I don't know whether or not he's throwing his weight around or not to get the best gigs but I'm sure the fact that guy brings in ratings has something to do with it too.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I will agree that he has been a big part in making ESPN what it is. That said, he is a terrible announcer. I don't think that you really meant announcer as I only think that he does some baseball games, of which they are a tough listen. I also question the ratings factor. Are you really watching the ESPN postgame to hear Berman or to hear analysis, of which he offers none, or see highlights and interviews?? The ratings factor is so overblown. I would watch the postgame show whether it was him or you doing it. The names of the guys doing the games means very little. Just look at MNF ratings to see that.
