Usually the MLB draft alternates leagues when giving out the first pick. Well this is the first year without that style of draft, and low and behold the first pick of the draft (which would have belonged to the Royals in years past) goes to the D-Backs. :-t

Yeah, its not really all that big a deal. Just sad that even when we suck, we can't do that right.

Because of the economics of baseball the small market teams usually pick the players that are likely to sign rather than the best available. That basically means a high draft pick is not what it should be.
