A respectful request to Yankee fans

Postby nsulham » Fri Oct 22, 2004 1:14 am

Wanted to get this in before the Series begins.

Look, you guys lost. It sucks. Trust me, as a Sox fan I know all about it. But with the Fall Classic coming up, just let it go. Get over it.

The Yankees aren't in the World Series. The Red Sox and Cardinals are. Therefore, the focus shouldn't be on the Yankees. The focus should be reserved for the two teams that WON.

There's plenty of time in the offseason for remodeling the Yankees and dream lineups and who should be gone, etc., etc., etc. There's plenty of time in the offseason to whine and complain about ballpark dimensions and how "Player X didn't pull his weight".

Guess my point is I'd hate to come here, or the Game forum, and see dozens of threads focused on the Yankees, WHEN THEY'RE NOT EVEN IN THE WORLD SERIES. Please, no "Oh the Yankees would have done this against the Cardinals" or any crap like that. They're gone, ok?

New York gets the headlines every other time and that's cool. But this is the World Series, and the focus should be on the two teams that are still alive, NOT on a team that is eliminated.

Here's to one hell of a Fall Classic ;-D

This is a silly request. You wanna shut the Yankee threads out? BEAT THE CARDS! I guarantee you won't hear much Yankee stuff if the Red Sox win the World Series.

People will say what they're going to say. There will still undoubtedly be conversation about the Yankee offseason, just as I'm sure there was (don't remember exactly) last year after the Sox lost.

Lets go Cards though :-D

I think if the Red Sox lost the ALCS, their fans would be planning their revenge, too. ;-)

Typical Sox fan, whining about the Yankees even when they beat them... :*)

Seriously, though- people are going to talk about what they want to talk about. Don't want to read about the Yanks? Don't read those threads. Or start a thread about the Sox.

Much ado about nothing...

So talk about it in the Yankees forum; it's irrelevant to 'Fantasy Baseball'. It magically becomes a non-issue.
