Does anybody know if they Mariners are thinking about bringing this kid up, I asked about prospects in the minors in another post and someone pointed out the mariners staff and I looked and it looks like he is tearing it up. Does anybody have any word on him???

I live in Seattle and there hasn't been any local talk about bringing Soriano up yet. The M's have Garcia, Moyer, and Pineiro pretty well set in the rotation, with Ryan Franklin and Gil Meche the 4 and 5 guys. They'll likely give Meche a long look in the rotation if they can, with Franklin a possibility to swing between starting and relieving (as he's done the last couple years). If anything happens to any of those guys, I'd expect Soriano to be the first guy up, but so far, there's nothing to say that will happen.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

Especially since Meche and Franklin have done pretty well.

Plus they want Soriano to learn a breaking pitch (I think its breaking, maybe off-spead, one of the two) so they probably plan to keep him down there atleast a few months to work on that.

Just heard tonight he was brought up since Kaz is in the DL.

Expected to do long relief in the bullpen.
