Oct. 20 - According to the Boston Herald, free-agent-to-be Carl Pavano is interested in signing with the Red Sox. "They are one of the teams I believe would be a good fit for Carl," Pavano's agent, Scott Shapiro, told the Herald. "....Carl grew up in Connecticut and his family is right there...he would be coming home to some extent."
Plus I've heard that Pavano doesn't want to pitch in NY.
Is it December 25th? I feel like a kid on Christmas morning here
I bet the Sox are happy to hear that. Either that, or he's tring to drive an offer from George up. We'll see.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Pavano is a pitcher I am very wary of next season.
He has thrown a lot of innings over the past two seasons (incl. post season 2003) and has had injury problems in the past and there is still also question marks over the size of his ticker.
Add to that the fact that he has had the luxury of pitching in a favourable ball park the last two seasons, he will be way over rated in drafts next season for my liking. For that matter he will be way over priced for whoever ends up getting him as well.

I agree with New Zealand fan 100%. Pavano had a great season. He's always had the stuff. Then again, so did Paul Wilson. A long injury history would make me wary of offering him too much.
Then again, this is the guy that was once traded for a young Pedro Martinez...

I agree with AA and NZ about the Pavano hype.
And about the trade Pavano for Pedro - you have to ignore all past Expos fire sales, they do not reflect reality.
