*might be wrong forum*

When trying to decide which player page I will sponsor this year on baseball-reference.com I thought I would see what the powers that be thought about an inside joke/cheap advertising idea.

For those who don't know, at baseball-reference.com you can sponsor a player page for a fee (that is based on the number of page hits that page received in the previous season). You can include links to a website and a message. Its a great way to support an invaluable information resource and gain even a small bit of exposure.

So I thought it might be nice to sponsor Matt Riley's page for a year for the low price (currently) of $10. Maybe a message along the lines of "Sorry about jinxing your season Matt." along with either a link to the cafe's index page or a link directly to a big Riley thread.

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe I should sponsor Loaiza's page. If it's based on traffic it could get pricey, with all his loyal fans checking out his recent stats. I'm calling it now: he vultures a win in Game 7 of the World Series :-D

I think wrveres sponsored a bunch of Padres players last year with a link to the FBC.

If anything I helped him, by insulting him constantly I got many others to start supporting him, which led to his success. He should be sponsoring me! :-D
