Very quietly he had a fantastic 2nd half of the season. His numbers will look very ordinary to anyone just looking at total stats when draft time comes so he may be able to slip quite a bit. Where do you all see him going next year? 3rd round? 4th? 5th? I know his knees are a constant worry but the way he finished the year I can see a .300, 40, 135 season next year. Opinions?
I just listed him as my sleeper 1B of the year last night. Depending where he lands in the offseason, he could give 1st round results in the 3rd round or later. Unless it's LA or something like that, he should be a pretty good pick. In keepers, not so much, but he'll be good next year at least.

Well, I think his value goes down a bit since his #'s were dissapointing compred to last season, but he is a free agent I believe and his value will depend where he goes next year the way I see it.
Didn't Delgado say that he didn't want to play in the U.S? At the time that left Montreal and Toronto. Now it's just Toronto but they don't seem to want to pay him. Has his stance changed?
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I think he preferred Canada because he objected to U.S. foreign affairs.

Believe it or not, there's more to Canada than just high taxes *gasp*
Such as personal safety, better schooling, and a higher quality of life. I know it was probably meant as a joke, but still, Canada has consistently been ranked higher for quality of life than the US (according to the UN), but it gets a bad rap. Good for you Carlos!
Also, I'm not so sure he wants to live in a country that is testing bombs in his native country, doing damage that isn't being fixed. That could be another reason... and the fact that Canada didn't invade Iraq might also be a factor since he disagrees with the war. Not saying he's right or wrong, just giving what may be his reasons. Regardless, I don't think Toronto will re-sign him.

I put Delgado on my list of guys that I want someone else to take. Now, don't get me wrong. I'll take him if he lasts long enough. I just think that he'll go way too early for my tastes.
i imagine delgado will go around the 4th round or so...but that is still too early for me to take him.....i would have to pass on him for a couple more rounds....
