This came up in my yahoo h2h public league. I got to the final playing the game "right," so to speak.
We had a situation in our league where some schmuck dropped his roster after he failed to make the playoffs. The regular season winner and I agreed not to pick up any of those players and, in fact, neither of us did. Through either brilliant managment (nah) or luck we both made it to the playoff finals. After about 3 days, when my era climbed to about 9 after ca. 30IP I decided to punt the ratios and go for the countables, so I started spot-starting two or so pitchers per day. At no point did I pick up any of the "dropped" players. I also picked up a few batters for today to make sure that I had a full lineup -- not all the studs play the last game of the season, you know. Anyhow, the guy is really upset with me and is yelling at me that I should be playing with just my 21 person roster and not pocking up players like crazy. . . I probably made about 30 moves the last week and a half.
what are your thoughts on this?
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.
